Bought this for a Fourth of July party and it was an immediate hit! How fun to make three types of perfect frozen drinks at once. Have even adapted other recipes – including some great non-alcoholic ones. Keeping bags of ice on hand in the freezer makes the best tasting drinks. I love this thing!

Does It Do What They Say It Will?

This one does seem to live up to the claims. Many people seemed to enjoy figuring out what other drinks they could make with this machine. Many reported using the DM3000 to make slurpees, smoothies, slush puppies, fitness drinks, as well as numerous other alcoholic drinks. Some reviewers complained about the price while others noted that commercial units that do the same thing can cost several thousands of dollars. This is a high end machine and if you can afford it seems to do what it says it will do and then some. This unit seems to big a big hit with people who enjoy entertaining larger groups of guests. If this is not you you might want to consider one of the more inexpensive models listed in the menu at the top or bottom of this page.

This machine far exceeded my highest expectation. A few months ago I was given the plug-powered version as a gift and was blown away by its quality. Then I found out that Margaritaville made this battery-powered version! I knew I just had to have it for my pontoon boat and travel… it did not disappoint.

How does it perform?

People are impressed with this model. The DM900 has a powerful 18-volt Ni-Cd battery pack and can blend up to 80 drinks on a single charge. Users report that this may actually be an understatement as many report being able to make an what seems to be an amazing number of mixed drinks on a single charge. Customers reported that they were very impressed with the quality of frozen concoctions created noting that the consistency of the shaved ice was spot on.

Does it hold up to use?

It definitely seems to. I ran across more than a few reviewers stating that they had owned other portable drink mixers that did not last more than a season or two of use and that their DM900’s were still going strong. Users also reported it as being easy to clean something lacking in the other non portable models sold by them that are reported to be a bit of a chore to wash.

I picked up the DM0500 model after some extensive shopping around for one of the Margaritaville blenders. This one doesn't hold as much ice as the others but it holds enough for one pitcher worth of drinks. It also doesn't have the fancy buttons that the others have that denote "mudslide," "daiquiri," or "Margarita"(I've heard there is little difference in these settings).
That is the main difference between this model and the others. It had the standard shave only/ blend only switch and a start button( more on that later).
The blender itself is very nice it has some great artistic accents like behind the pitcher on the machine is a metal engraving of a palm tree and a sea plane. The construction is easy and it works right out of the box. All you have to do is attach the ice hopper and you're finished.

Does it do what it’s supposed to do?

For this section I look over the claims made by the manufacturer and compare them with the experiences of consumers who have purchased and reviewed the machines. With this margarita mixer i did not see any evidence of the manufacturers claims being misleading.  Many users happily reported being able to make excellent slurpees, slush puppies, snow cones, fitness drinks, smoothies and other frozen drinks with ease. Others noted enjoying duplicating their favorite frozen drinks purchased by them in bars or restaurants in the past. I can say that in this regard the DM0500 exceeds the claims made by it’s manufacturer.

Does it hold up?

I did my homework on this one and found reviews as far back as Dec 2007 so this model has been around and has a proven track record. Most all of the reviewers stated that they would absolutely purchase this unit again. Although some reviews noted the capacity to be somewhat limited these were isolated reports.

Something about the tasty fruity flavors, bright colors, and tequila always makes me feel like I am sitting on a sunny beach somewhere, even if I am on the deck outside of my home with some close friends. After researching this margaritaville blender machine I realized how wrong I was. The DM 2000 is built from the ground up as a frozen margarita machine. The DM1000 has dual motors that first shaves (not chops) the ice so you won’t have any chunks of ice in your frozen margaritas. The second motor blends the mixture together resulting in a near perfect margarita every time. You don’t have to wonder how much ice to put in as this is all taken care of automatically. You add in your margarita mix and press start. If you want more or less ice you can manually add in more ice or blend it longer it’s all up to you.

What do others say about this Margaritaville Blender?

I have looked all over the internet and have personally read over a hundred reviews given for this model and they are overwhelmingly positive. Most buyers are extremely happy with the margaritaville blender and I found only one real complaint worth mentioning. Several reviewers noted that although the container is deemed dishwasher safe they noticed a discoloration when placing the pitcher into the dishwasher. This does not seems to be a real problem as apparently the company will happily send you a new one free of charge if this happens to you. Does it live up to the claims?

It sure seems to, I have not come across a single instance of anyone suggesting otherwise. Many people were fond of pointing out that they were able to make slurpees, snow cones, slush puppies, smoothies and other frozen concoctions with the DM1000. In short it seems to do exactly what they say it will do, make great frozen margaritas and more.

Is it worth the investment?

Most of the reviewers conceded that the DM 1000 margaritaville blender was more than they wanted to pay for a frozen margarita machine, however this was almost always followed by them saying that after using it, they would spend the money again.
